Electric Guitars were introduced during 1930’s creating a revolution in sound and technology. Electric Guitars became popular with the invention of Rock and Roll in 1950. Beatles attracted the whole of America in 1964, followed by Rolling Stones, bream and the Jimi Henrix experience. The Guitar music gripped the entire World and the electric Guitars dominate the scene today.
The Guitars initially had a single pick up only. Now the Guitars come with two or three pick ups, making the instrument more versatile. One of them will be near the bridge and the second will be towards the base of the neck. The third one, if provided, will be between the other two pick ups. The additional pick ups will give the Guitarists more options for producing greater tonal quality. The pick ups can be used individually or in combination to get the right volume and to produce best sound.
Basically, there are two types of electric Guitar. They are hallow-bodied and solid-bodied. The former is used by Jass Lovers and the latter are preferred by Rock Guitarists. There are also semi-solid Guitars available in the market which combines the characteristics of both the above types of Guitar.
