Organizing Your Chords – Guitar

Organizing your chord is one of the most important aspects of developing your skills in playing Guitar. As explained below, the study of harmony and chord playing can be grouped under six basic groups.

Basic Open Position Chords: This group represents the “meat and potatoes” chord shapes. All the learners begin with these chord forms. These are taught in lesson pack ones included with fret light lesson player.

Open Chord Variations: This group includes variations that can be created from basic open position chords. Most of these variations are taught in lesson pack. Three and also in Fretlight lesson players chord and scale library.

Power Chords / Fifth Chords: This category represents the essential Guitar chord sound, focusing on movable shapes that can be played up and down the strings in different positions. These Chords are taught in Rock style Pack and also in Fretlight lesson players chord and scale library.

Barge Chords: This category focuses on movable chords that are shaped created from open position Major, Minor and seventh chords, which can be moved up and down the neck and played in different positions. These are taught in lesson Pak four and in Fretlight lesson Player’s chord and scales library.

Triads: This category focuses on three notes / three strings chord forms that can be played up and down the fretboard. These chords can be learnt from Fretlight lesson player’s chord and scale library. There are four categories of Triads, Major, Minor, Diminished and Augmented.

Others: This category will include all chord shapes or chord forms that do not fall under any of the above five categories
